- Arrived at UNICAR
Worked with Chris Carson, Fernando to install network and server system, we were able migrate network switches and cables from old UNICAR patch panel to new cables and new Cisco 2950 switches. We were able test the new dedicated 2Mbps circuit which is for the videoconferencing equipment. We tested calling out to a internet test site and calling back into UNICAR.
Network data speed is extremely fast, videoconferencing is extremely clear.
We will try to call out tomorrow to Carolinas Healthcare System. Tomorrow we also will move the UNICAR Internet circuits to the new routers, talk with Dr. Arrango inquired and requested a few items that are desperately needed for UNICAR. Backed up SQL server data base on flash drive. Finalized Fernando Cardona request list as well. We stopped working at 5:45pm.
UNICAR - Request
Dr Arrango - Request
EKG machine, Digital computer workstation and reporting for chest pain patient - need protocol Cath Lab procedure for IGSS and UNICAR
iPad wireless to move between exam rooms and patients
EMR system - using the CardioComplete EMR application "Dr Arrango said UNICAR can not expand their medical records anymore"
Coumadin Management system
Pacemaker monitoring system
Fernando Cardona - Request
"High Priority" Need DLT external drive and order DLT drives for the KinetDx server so UNICAR can archive images and reports again on KinetDx server.
Currently all images are being saved on the ultrasound machine disk drive which will eventually fill to capacity. Once this happens the ultrasound machine will no longer function.
Need new DIMM 512 memory chips for the HP NetServer LH 3000r U3 KinetDx server echo imaging server
Need a new patch panel 568 A/B to extend their network to other offices inside UNICAR hospital
Need the LAN desk work stations for the video conferencing equipment to keep it stationary in the UNICAR conference room for future videoconferencing.

The nurse uses the imaging and uses the database for tracking his patients. Cardiologist have a special echo report that they use, i have a copy of their report the Physician would like to have their template created in the CardioComplete application for other physicians to view. Network/ Server Implementation and Videoconferencing the "Bridge "
Stage 1
- Finished stage 1 implement new network and server infrastructure at UNICAR
Videoconferencing is networked, connected and tested back to Carolinas Healthcare System videoconferencing room. Please coordinate work effort for Thursday morning multidisciplinary Videoconferencing between Carolinas Healthcare System and UNICAR 5:00am Guatemala time and 7:00am Charlotte, NC in Carolinas Healthcare System videoconferencing room 2nd floor CMC.
Stage 2
- Videoconferencing Continue Medical Education for the Multidisciplinary Sessions
Stage 3
- Connect ultrasound machine to videoconferencing equipment at UNICAR to allow cardiologists view images and report at Carolinas Healthcare System to continue Medical Education and cardiovascular imaging training this includes:
- Echo and Vascular protocol/process and Ultrasound Machine training via videoconferencing
- EKG - 12 lead protocol/process EKG Machine training for chest pain patients coming into either the emergency room or UNICAR via videoconferencing
- Nuclear/CT Scan - protocol/process training via videoconferencing
Stage 4
- Connect to IGSS and UNICAR approved Hospital list for Echo Cardiovascular imaging in Guatemala
Guatemala Cardiovascular hospitals check point visits:
Visits are necessary to ensure protocols and processes are in compliant, we want to make sure each hospital in Guatemala is following the same imaging/reporting protocols and processes for all Guatemala hospitals that are part of this project. (Oscar Flores) would make a great candidate to oversee the Echo imaging for those other hospitals coming online for echo imaging. Data entry, reporting and data collection is very important part of the patient outcome.
Special note:
I have combined everything on the USB drive
SQL Database from the KinteDx Server at UNICAR Guatemala, Guatemala City
SQL Database from the CardioComplete Database San Juan Dios Hospital in xela Guatemala
I have included the Echo Reports currently used at San Juan Dios Hospital
Including all Pictures of the Hospitals and Trip
